Care instructionsUpdated 2 months ago

Our rugs are most suitable for low to medium traffic areas.

General:

It's crucial to vacuum hand-tufted rugs at least once a week to keep them in good shape, remove loose fibers, and prevent moth damage. However, using a vacuum with excessively strong suction or certain types of beater bars can harm the rug over time. It's recommended to disable the beater bar feature during vacuuming. Additionally, if you have a suitable outdoor space, consider taking the rug outside to vigorously shake or beat it, which helps eliminate any loose dirt or debris before vacuuming.

We recommend using a rug pad with all our rugs.

Our rugs do not come with any chemical treatments or stain-resistant coatings applied. However, based on our personal experience, using Scotch Guard can help in preserving the rug's condition. Should you choose to use it, we highly advise conducting a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area of the rug before treating the entire surface.

Rugs left in direct sunlight will fade over time.

How to clean your rug

Vacuum up larger debris.

Spills: lightly blot (never rub) with a damp cloth or paper towel. For heavy spills, spoon up excess liquid before blotting with a clean, dry towel.

Stains: spot clean with water and a mild detergent or a water/vinegar mixture - we also recommend Folex - then blot dry. Do not use too much water, or allow the rug to remain wet. But please be sure to test  any cleaning agent on a small section of your rug first, as different soaps and cleaning products can react in different ways with the various yarn colors.

Smelly stains: treat as above, but add vinegar to your water/detergent mix.
